Walking, Hiking and Climbing

Walking routes in TipperarySurrounded by the Galtees, the Knockmealdowns and the Comeraghs, Cahir House is situated in the heart of south Munster, a walkers’ and hikers’ oasis. There are innumerable trails, hikes and climbs to be enjoyed. The Vee, which is through the Knockmealdowns, is a spectacular scenic route and popular with the locals.

We are happy to organise a ‘Walker’s Trail weekend package’ which includes all maps, information and a guide if necessary. The trails vary from gentle to more rigorous climbs around the mountain peeks.

The local walking club schedules have guided walks most Sundays and shorter walks on Wednesday evenings during the summer. Information is available at reception.

The Glen of Aherlow Nature Park features many easily followed walking trails and picnic sites.
